In the news today

First thing I read today that caught my interest was a couple of NFL players trying to take back a ''donation'' from their high school.....All because the school refuses to put their last name on the score board....when the school has a clear policy on putting names on school property. Last time i checked a DONATION was given out of the goodness of your heart. To help someone/something out. Am I right here? The NFL players, Erin and E.J. Henderson, should respect the schools policy and just want to help the players out. Unfortunately that's not how people operate. Everyone wants something. It's a shame. I'll post a link to the story at the end of the post.

The next story I read had to do with the Pakistani government passing a law that would censor text messaging. Words that were deemed obscene will be censored. Words such as headlights, Jesus Christ, and tampon. Yes.....tampon is considered obscene. Reading things like this really makes me glad that we still have freedom of speech....well....for the most part anyways. Yeah if you really honestly think that we have total freedom of speech still I suggest you take a closer look at things. Anyways, how silly is that to have to censor text messages..... I couldn't imagine living some where that I couldn't say what I wanted, where I couldn't dress how I wanted. Just makes you realize while things may not be going perfectly in the U.S. it's still better than most places!

Fashion pet peeves!

Heyyyyy yall, alright tonight's topic is fashion pet peeves.

As yall might know, i work in the world of Fashion. I'm a cosmetology student i live eat and breath fashion.

Something that reallllllly gets me going? major fashion faux pas. Here is a list of some!

1. Orange freakin skin.....thats not cute guys! I get the need to fake bake and spray tan....but dear god dont go oompa lumpa on us!

2. Wearing camouflage when you arent hunting..... Okay.....just no. the end.

3. Wearing shorts/skirts so short if you sneeze your vag is going to fall out! Leave a little to the imagination ladies.

4. Women that let their roots grow out like 3 inch's.....really? like....really? having ALL super white blonde hair with 3 inch's of brown hair....aint cute. Get that mess touched up please!

5. Wearing obviously too tight clothes. Now i'm not hating on our bigger ladies. I love em all! But you KNOW if clothes are just too tight for you..... dont try to squeeze into pants 5 sizes TOO small. Play up your curves, and your body! dont mush it together with ill fitting clothes.

6. The hoop earrings that i could totally fit both of my fists in..... is that necessary? i hope your earrings get caught on a street post!

Anyways i'm going to leave it at that!

laterrrrrrrrrr

let's talk about black friday

So i KNOW everyone and their dogs know about Black Friday as being the biggest shopping day of the year right? And we've all heard crazy ass stories of disgruntled shoppers making insane threats over not getting the item they want. But where and when did Black friday start? What in the helllll started all this madness?!

Well you're about to find out =]

Back in 1966 Philly used to call the day "black friday" becuase of all the pedestrian traffic around the town for shopping. And around 1975 the name caught on in other cities, also was called Black Friday because retailers are turning such a profit and are considered ''in the black''

Yep there ya go, a little random fact for ya.

Just a reminder for next years Black Friday, seeing as I was a cashier in 2007 on Black Friday...and it WAS hell.
Just remember don't be pissy with your cashiers, they have delt with 50 people just like you, before you came along being rude. We are MORE tired then you, MORE stressed, and still have to smile!

;)

there ya go how'd ya like that?

The indifference of good men

I know i havent updated in awhile. But this story just jumped out at me

I read this news story this morning about a man stabbed while trying to help a woman being attacked..... after he laid on the street bleeding to death with people passing by him..looking at him not bothering to help. Finally after ONE HOUR of people passing by him someone made the 911 call....... that is so horrible. ONE HOUR? really?

My first instict if i saw someone like that would to be to stop and help...... those people could have saved him and they CHOSE not to. How could you chose not to help some one bleeding on the ground? That is madness

I'm just in total shock of the fact that they have VIDEO of people some just walking by looking at him..... some stopping to full on stair.

The evil we should fear the most is the indifference of good men.

Ladies and Gentlemen are you aware that Chicago has a 28 year long gun ban in it's city? Well I was stalking the yahoo new section which i tend to do day in and day out when I came across this article *linked at bottom* where I read about Chicago's gun ban. This article is about how this city's citizens are hoping that the gun ban WILL be over turned. It gives stories of the average person in Chicago, about how they were victims of burglary, threats and more.

Adam Orlov, and businessman and ex police officer, stated about the gun ban " the law only prohibits the actions of those who are law-abiding. The more law-abiding the more likely you are to be vulnerable to the activities of criminals"

And I agree 100% criminals in Chicago, or anywhere really, aren't going to abide by this law, so you are leaving the people in this town defenseless against home invasion, robberies and car jackings. City officials made the statement that they have the right to make laws and decide how to protect it's citizens.....

But my question is what about the RIGHTS of the citizens to have the ability to protect their families? And the RIGHT to decide HOW to protect themselves? Not to mention.....it's UNCONSTITUTIONAL. 2nd amendment folks, The right to bare arms.
I'm not particularly a gun advocate but you know it's my constitutional right as an American citizen to be ABLE to have a gun if I should feel the need to have one. As it is every Americans right ( granted you are no a felon! lol).

Someone PLEASE tell me how this law got passed in the first place?? And someone PLEASE take this to court over the fact that it is a direct violation of the 2nd amendment!

individualism = narcissism? I don't think so.

So i read this article*(can be found at the bottom of the post)* about how apparently parents in America are picking more unique name's for their children. And some researcher is talking this mess about how apparently we're trying to make our children stick out more, which could possibly lead to personality traits later in life like narcissism..... Are you kidding me? And apparently this pattern just proves that we have a narcissistic country ect ect. This is the biggest load of shit I've read all day!

I'm not one of those people that blend into a crowd and follow along silently, why should my child? To me this article just screams, "follow every rule with out questions, blend in, keep your head down." Ummmm no..... Absolutely not. I was taught to question EVERYTHING and I will teach my daughter to do the same thing. If it doesn't make sense then question it. And I'm definitely not just a sheep in the herd nor do I see that for my daughter. Like why WOULDN'T you want your child to be unique and maintain individually? I 100% support free thinking, thinking outside the box, and you know what...bending the rules sometimes IS a good thing.

I mean come one, if the founder of this country had kept their heads down, didn't question anything, and just blended in with the crowd.....we wouldn't be known as the United States of America right now.....more like the United States of England.

So dear writer's of this article,

WTF.

Sincerely,

Brandyie Marie

Would a lion cheat? No but a Tiger Wood!

Let's take a moment to talk about Tiger Woods..... By this point in time I think we've ALL see Tiger Wood's ''apology'' if you can even call it that. Now he has been accused of cheating on his gorgeous wife with multitudes of other women..... Now let's talk about this very FORCED public apology.... I think it's JUST that....very forced. He did what all other celebrities do cry a little bit, apologize, and blame it alllll on an addiction. I'll tell you exactly what will happen.... He'll go to rehab for a few months, then everyone will feel sorry for him because he can't help himself because of this ''addiction.'' Then he'll get out....... and it all will be forgotten! I swear crying addiction is the biggest celebrity scapegoat there is. "oh i talked shit about jews bc i'm a drunk" "I have a coke addiction that why i act like a crazy bitch!" yada yada yada

It just pisses me off....that he had it ALL going for him, a gorgeous wife, a kid, fame, fortune ect ect... and he goes and fucks it all away!
